The 2024 elections are upon us, and we need your help to ensure that every eligible vote counts in California! Here are ways to engage:
- Serve as challengers and watchers during early voting and on Election Day. Reach out to your local Republican or Democrat parties for information on qualifications and how to apply.
- Serve as Officer of Elections/Election Officer (poll workers.) Learn about Officers of Elections in California and how to apply here. Use can also use the poll worker lookup tool to find information on being a poll worker in your community, including requirements, hours, pay, training, and more.
- Ensure Californians are registered to vote. We have made it easy for you. Download our Conducting a Voter Registration Drive: Instructions and Helpful Tips.

Election Dates
Primary Election
- February 5, 2024 – county elections office will begin mailing ballots. Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office.
- February 6, 2024 – Ballot drop-off locations open
- Tuesday, February 20, 2024 – Last day to register to vote.
- Saturday, February 24, 2024 – Vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties.
- March 5 – Presidential Primary Election.
- Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by March 12, 2024.
General Election
- October 21, 2024 – The last day to register to vote for the November 5, 2024, General Election.
- October 7, 2024 – County elections office will begin mailing ballots. Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office. Note: All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 5, 2024, General Election
- October 8, 2024 –Ballot drop-off locations open
- October 26, 2024 – Vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties.
- Tuesday, November 5 – Election Day.
- Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 12, 2024.
