“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

From the earliest days of the Second Continental Congress, our Founding Fathers made a practice of fasting and prayer for our land. In the first prayer offered for the Congress in 1774, Reverend Duche’ appealed to Almighty God to re-establish peace and harmony and for truth, justice, religion, and piety to spread through the nation.

Today, on the National Day of Prayer, people will fast, pray, and gather in large and small communities around Kentucky to recognize our Creator, repent of past sins and reconcile to commit our future to His purposes.

Join me in praying for Kentucky.

“Father in Heaven, You are worthy of all praise. By Your mercy, Kentucky is moving forward to continue the works that You planned before the foundation of the world. Your faithfulness extends beyond all we can comprehend or imagine, and our hope is in You alone. Humbly we ask for Your pardon, for we have strayed from our Biblical foundation. We pray for our Kentucky leaders in the legislative branch, the judicial branch, and the executive branch. Restore broken relationships. Bring truth and justice back to our court system. Send a revival to Kentucky and heal our land. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.”
