CWA and Other Pro-life Leaders Pray for Charlie Gard, Urge British Government to Reverse its Decision

Washington, D.C. – Today Concerned Women for America will gather with other pro-life leaders to pray for Charlie Gard and to urge the British Government to hear his parents’ plea to care for their son as they wish. Charlie, an 11-month-old infant, has mitochondrial depletion syndrome, a rare genetic disease. Charlie’s parents raised the money to further treat their son, but the British Government has denied their wishes. British officials have also refused to release him to his parents to die at home.

“We stand here today in support of little Charlie Gard and his parents. Charlie cannot speak for himself, but God gave him good parents who love him and have his best interest at heart. Surely they should be allowed to make the decision of when to quit.

“We are especially grateful to our pro-life president, Donald Trump, and to Pope Francis for speaking up for little Charlie and his parents.

“Today, Concerned Women for America members stand together with the top leaders in the United States pro-life movement and call on the United Kingdom Court to reverse its position and allow Charlie’s parents to choose.”
