December 1, 2014 Update:
Special thanks to all those that who signed up! Your packets will be in the mail to you within the next few days.
We are excited to report that every legislator has been assigned to an encourager and we were able to include the Governor and Attorney General as well.
September 2, 2014:
Wow! This year has flown by, and we are now approaching another General Assembly session.
I am looking for volunteers for CWA of Virginia’s Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) program for the 2015 Session. This year’s session will be six weeks beginning January 14, 2015.
EAL is a program of encouragement and prayer for our Virginia legislators while the General Assembly is in session. It involves sending a postcard every week for six weeks and praying daily for a legislator. Click here for our EAL brochure which further explains the program.
We received several notes of gratitude and appreciation from our legislators, and at our cookie drop, we received positive feedback as well. Here are a few examples:
“Thank you so much for your kind words and for keeping me in your prayers. The work you do for Concerned Women for American of Virginia is truly remarkable.”
“It means a lot to know that folks from all across the state are praying that we know God, and that our actions and decisions in the Legislature are pleasing to Him.”
“I look forward to receiving your cards and words of encouragement during the General Assembly Session, and this year is no exception.”
If you would like to participate, please call 434-444-2292 or e-mail me at encourage@virginia.cwfa.org.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to serve the Lord and your fellow citizens.
