PERSEVERANCE

Dear CWA of Washington Member,

New Year’s greetings! CWA of Washington wishes you a very joyful and peaceful 2011. As we begin our new year’s activities, we’re reminding ourselves and you of the state vision and the national mission statement:

The vision of CWA of Washington is to be an instrument for the Lord to use to educate people on Judeo-Christian values and to instill these values into the culture of the state of Washington.

The mission of CWA is to protect and promote Biblical values among all citizens first through prayer, then education, and finally by influencing our society thereby reversing the decline in moral values in our nation.

PRAYER

“praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” Ephesians 6:18

In order to accomplish our national and state goals, we need prayer warriors! It is CWA’s desire that everything we do be first bathed in prayer, thus seeking God’s direction and protection. We sincerely ask you to pray for CWA at all levels, from the national office to the local Prayer/Action Chapters and Home Teams, that we may speak boldly for Biblical values and principles, thus furthering God’s kingdom impact in all realms of life.

Our CWA Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) Campaign is another way we can pray. If you would like to adopt a state legislator for the 2011 ninety-day session, please join the EAL campaign (application attached). We will send you the name of a legislator for whom you pray daily and to whom you mail a weekly, encouraging postcard. We’ll even supply Scripture and quotes along with a prayer. We will mail or e-mail the EAL materials out within the week.

***IF YOU PRAYED FOR A LEGISLATOR LAST YEAR, PLEASE START PRAYING FOR THE SAME LEGISLATOR NOW AS THE LEGISLATURE BEGINS TODAY, JANUARY 10. UNLESS YOU PREFER OTHERWISE, YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED THE SAME PERSON YOU PRAYED FOR IN 2010***

EDUCATION

Will you help us accomplish both our vision and mission? We need to add Prayer/Action Chapters and Home Teams around the state. A Prayer/Action Leader (PAL) holds monthly chapter meetings to pray for state and national needs and issues, while Captains contact their Home Teams through e-mail with the same materials with the option of occasional meetings. Please check the state website to find a chapter near you or consider establishing a Chapter or Home Team. Educating our members and our communities is a valuable role and can form enduring relationships with other concerned citizens as we continue steadfastly in God’s ways and in prayer together.

ACTION

The third leg of CWA’s mission statement is influencing our society through action. CWA of Washington engages in activities throughout the year, and we will notify you of them through these action alerts. Based on prayer, CWA asks members to act upon their convictions as the Lord leads them.

MARCH FOR LIFE: Sanctity of Life is our first core issue because we realize that without life, we can have nothing else. Therefore, our first activity this year will be the OLYMPIA MARCH FOR LIFE ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 18, 2011, at noon. Join us on the capitol grounds in Olympia by 11:45 a.m. that day. Watch for the CWA of Washington banner and march with us to the steps of the Capitol Building where we will listen to pro-life leaders and legislators as they take a stand for the sanctity of human life.

Finally, please support CWA of Washington by mailing in your 2011 tax-deductible membership gift of $25 or more (form attached) to the state address: P. O. Box 143 Woodinville, WA 98072. You may also donate online at http://wa.cwfa.org (be sure to designate your gift to the State of Washington). You may also join through the national office, but if you send your gift to the state address, your gift will go directly to support efforts to push back the darkness of the current culture and reverse the decline of moral values in our own state.

In His Service,

Maureen Richardson
