YWA Hosts Panel Event: Feminine, Not Feminist

On Monday, September 25, Young Women for America (YWA) Rutherford County, Tennessee, Chapter President Hannah Faulkner hosted a panel to discuss “Feminine, Not Feminist” and what it means to be a Proverbs 31 woman. The discussion focused on the lies and harms of the feminist movement and how women should look to the Biblical example given to us in Proverbs 31:10-31 for what it means to be a woman.

On the panel was Turning Point USA Faith Regional Manager Nicole Herschberger, published Christian author Georgia Brown, apologetics YouTube channel owner Ava Calhoun, Tennessee Tech PhD student Amanda Klug, and myself. All these women shared how they see the feminist ideology attacking God’s design for women, purity, modesty, dating standards, and how politics are involved in this discussion.

The event topic was very close to the heart of Concerned Women for America (CWA), as our founder, Beverly LaHaye, began CWA as a response to the damage being done by the radical feminist movement of the late 70’s. I was able to speak on how CWA/YWA advocates for the protection of women, their unique design given by God, and the partnership that God intended between women and men. It was encouraging to see 50 young women and mothers of young girls come to hear this counter-cultural narrative, displaying that there are young women who want to pursue God’s design and not the framework for women made by the world.
