Will you pray for Texas students?

It’s that time of year! The school year has begun for Texas students, and the signs are everywhere – school supply sales, cars in school parking lots, and school buses driving through the neighborhoods. Parents and grandparents are again praying for safe places for children to grow and learn.

Will you set aside time this week to pray for the upcoming school year?

Pray for protection over the minds and hearts of our children in the public schools. We know that the mind is a battlefield; therefore, we must pray without ceasing for the children and be wise in our dealings with the governing bodies whose decisions affect entire generations. “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” Matthew 10:16

Pray for teachers as they prepare the classroom and lessons for the new year. Pray that the Lord will give them patience, peace, grace, and compassion each day. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Pray a hedge of protection around every campus and that violence will not cross into one campus this year. “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2
