VA-Urgent Action Needed TOMORROW to Defend the Unborn of Virginia

By November 13, 2024Virginia

“This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” - Deuteronomy 30:19

Urgent action is needed regarding an important constitutional amendment being considered by the Virginia House Privilege and Elections Committee tomorrow that would allow abortion through all nine months of pregnancy for any reason.

House Amendment  HJ1 “Provides that every individual has the fundamental right to reproductive freedom and that the right to make and effectuate one’s own decisions about all matters related to one’s pregnancy cannot be denied, burdened, or otherwise infringed upon by the Commonwealth, unless justified by a compelling state interest and achieved by the least restrictive means. The amendment prohibits the Commonwealth from penalizing, prosecuting, or otherwise taking adverse action against an individual for exercising the individual’s right to reproductive freedom or for aiding another individual in the exercise of such right, unless justified by a compelling state interest.” [Underline added for emphasis.]
The House Privilege and Elections Committee is scheduled to meet tomorrow concerning this amendment. If passed out of committee, we anticipate it will be fast-tracked for approval within the first seven to 10 days after the opening session on January 8, 2025.

Join us in prayer: Father God, we know that the shedding of innocent blood is an abomination to you. We ask for your forgiveness, as a nation, as a state, for the sin of abortion. We pray earnestly for our Virginia General Assembly. We pray that there would be godly reason and courage among our legislators and that every bill or amendment introduced to further the killing of innocent babies would be defeated. We pray that the protection of all innocent human life from conception until natural death would become the law of our state and our nation. In the precious name of our Lord and Savior, we pray, amen.

Thank you!
