Book Discussion: Checks and Balances in our Government

You are invited to Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Missouri‘s Taney County Prayer/Action Chapter Tuesday, January 17 meeting. They will spend time in prayer for our state and country and continue their book study of The 5,000 Year Leap* (A Miracle that Changed the World.)

The Chapter will discuss Principle 17: A system of checks and balances should be adopted to prevent the abuse of power by the different branches of government. James Madison was astutely aware of such abuse of power when he stated: “It will not be denied that power is of an encroaching nature and that it ought to be effectually restrained from passing the limits assigned to it.”

*In The 5,000 Year Leap, we are learning 28 fundamental beliefs of the Founding Fathers that, if understood and perpetuated, will bring peace, prosperity, and freedom. These beliefs have made possible more progress in 200 years than was made previously in over 5,000 years. Thus, the title The 5,000 Year Leap.
