Tuesday, January 17: Branson Prayer/Action Chapter Meeting

Book Discussion: Checks and Balances in our Government

You are invited to Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Missouri‘s Taney County Prayer/Action Chapter Tuesday, January 17 meeting. They will spend time in prayer for our state and country and continue their book study of The 5,000 Year Leap* (A Miracle that Changed the World.)

The Chapter will discuss Principle 17: A system of checks and balances should be adopted to prevent the abuse of power by the different branches of government. James Madison was astutely aware of such abuse of power when he stated: “It will not be denied that power is of an encroaching nature and that it ought to be effectually restrained from passing the limits assigned to it.”

*In The 5,000 Year Leap, we are learning 28 fundamental beliefs of the Founding Fathers that, if understood and perpetuated, will bring peace, prosperity, and freedom. These beliefs have made possible more progress in 200 years than was made previously in over 5,000 years. Thus, the title The 5,000 Year Leap.

June 8 Prayer/Action Alert: Do Not Grow Weary and Faint

By | Washington | No Comments

Many of us are growing weary of the restriction of our normal activities because of the COVID-19 virus. And now, we are watching a rebellious spirit move through our nation. For these reasons, Jeremiah 31:25 struck a chord with me: “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” God has given us His Son Christ Jesus and His written Word to refresh and satisfy our desire for goodness, peace, joy, and love for others. Above all of this insanity is our knowledge that none of this surprises our Heavenly Father.

Founder John Adams warned us that our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. Many of us have witnessed the banishing of God from public places for decades. I am grateful that Concerned Women for America’s (CWA) mission is to protect and promote Biblical values and Constitutional principles through prayer, education, and advocacy. And our vision is to lead a movement dedicated to impacting the culture for Christ through education and public policy.

Take the Next Step
CWA of Washington invites you to engage with us by joining or leading a Prayer/Action Chapter.

Chapters give CWA members a voice in their communities as they meet regularly to encourage informed prayer and action for our nation, state, communities, and leaders. Please contact the state office for more information on how to become a Prayer/Action Chapter Leader.  The current culture desperately needs sincere, compassionate, passionate prayers and actions! If not you, then who?

Update – Referendum 90
Last month, I wrote about Referendum 90 – a ballot initiative to reverse ESSB 5395. If you have been collecting signatures for this referendum, I thank you and encourage you to pray for sufficient valid signatures to put the mandated, statewide “comprehensive sexual education” issue on the November ballot for the citizens of the state to decide what is appropriate for their beloved children!  Click here to stay informed on the issue.

Prayer

  • Seek out other citizens in your community who are concerned about the moral and spiritual decline of our nation and culture and gather them to pray. A Prayer/Action Chapter is an easy and effective way to do that, so consider starting a chapter today.
  • Prayer walk your neighborhood or town/city with a friend.

Focus on Jeremiah 31:25 and do not grow weary or faint. Together, let us restore this nation to our Biblical religious heritage and bless others!

What Sets Us Apart? Prayer and Action! Learn More.

By | Georgia | No Comments

What sets CWA apart from other organizations?
Our emphasis on prayer and action at the grassroots.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord …and who labors fervently in prayer. The greatest force for change on behalf of our families and country is indeed prayer and the responsibilities that come with our citizenship in a free country. All the resources of God Almighty are at our disposal, and He rules in all the affairs of men, and nothing is too hard for Him.

The essential balance between the two

One only needs to read or listen to a daily news report or social media to recognize the destruction that is taking place.  Whether it be the increased violence in America, the rabid assault on the family, or the barrage of attacks on the leaders God has placed over us, we need to execute the power of prayer and then take the necessary action to back up our convictions.

Balance between both prayer and action is vital for all believers.  James speaks of this when commending heroes of the faith, “You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone” (2:24).

These elements are crucial to restoring our states and nation and to preserving our families. Truly, our 400+ Prayer/Action Chapters and Home Teams nationwide are the lifeblood of Concerned Women for America.

So how can you make a difference?

CWA’s Prayer/Action Chapters and Home Teams provide the perfect vehicle for you to stay engaged in local, state and federal policies as part of a united prayer and action network.

Ephesians 6: 18 and 20 provide one of the Scriptural foundations for Prayer/Action Chapters: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints … for which I am an ambassador in chains, that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Prayer/Action chapters enable members to:

  • Be alert and informed on the issues (Ephesians 6:18b);
  • Pray about these issues (Ephesians 6:18a);
  • Act on those issues (Ephesians 6:20).

It’s easy to become a CWA Prayer/Action Chapter Leader or Home Team Captain. Simply join CWA if you’re not already a member and submit a leadership application. Upon approval of your application, we will send instructional materials to you. I will provide training and help prepare you to become the confident leader of a successful Prayer/Action Chapter.

Here’s what Prayer/Action Chapter Leaders from around the country have said:

“I was just praying about the next thing God wanted me to do, and I know that it is with CWA. He has made that very clear.  I believe the time is narrowing when He will return, and we must do everything within His will to work His plan.”

“It is an exciting time to make positive change. … I’m inspired, energized and full of hope by the unequivocal voice of the country.  It’s time for action.”

“I believe that this election let us know how important it is for Christians to stay involved. The Lord has been persistent in His message to me. My argument was time, but He has allowed me to see that this is a priority.  We must preserve our Christian nation for future generations.”

Remember, your prayers, personal involvement, and action are vital to the future of our children and of our nation.
