Hello, I am Tammy Smith, the new Concerned Women for America (CWA) Prayer/Action Chapter Leader of Johnson City. I am very excited to announce our kick-off meeting to be held Monday, June 29.

No doubt you are as concerned as I am about the many moral issues threatening our community, state, and nation today. Most people want to work to create a better nation for our children and grandchildren but are unsure of the steps to take.

That is why I am involved today, and why I invite you to join me at our kick-off meeting. Our Prayer/Action Chapter will meet once a month to educate ourselves on one of CWA’s seven core issues, and then pray and take action on the issue(s). Join us and enjoy fellowship with like-minded individuals. If you are unable to attend our first meeting, be sure to contact me and ask to be put on our email list for future meetings.

When: Monday, June 29, 12:00 noon
What: Kickoff Meet & Greet. There will be a brief CWA presentation, prayer, fellowship, and lunch. Bring a dessert to share if you would like.
Where: Home of Tammy Smith at 803 Hales Chapel Road, Johnson City, TN 37615
RSVP: Please RSVP by Thursday, June 25. Contact me at 585-356-7331 or  [email protected].

Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Please plan to attend and be sure to bring a friend!

If you do not live in the Johnson City area, but would like information on how to start a chapter in your area, please reach out to CWA’s national office today. They will be happy to assist and train you as they did me.

I look forward to hearing from you!

A Message from a CWA of Tennessee Chapter Leader – NOT Giving Up

By | Tennessee | No Comments

I have always loved the quote used by President, Ronald Reagan, “If not now, when? If not by us, then by whom?” As I’ve observed the events of the last several months around the world and our county, I asked myself, am I going to give up or press in, within my role as a CWA Prayer/Action Chapter Leader?

In Hebrews the answer is clear, “And let us consider how we spur one another on toward love and good deeds, NOT giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV).

As CWA leaders and members, we do not shrink back, especially during these times. We receive encouragement by being with one another in person, teleconferencing, or on a conference call. It strengthens our faith and disperses fear, especially during these times. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV)

Though a registered nurse and personally affected by this virus, I believe it’s time to “Open America.” As CWA’s CEO and president has said, “Americans have shown they are resilient and responsible. But as this pandemic comes to an end, they must be allowed to exercise their constitutional rights and return to daily life.”

Therefore, for these reasons, after teleconference meeting for several months, we will be meeting once again face to face on June 16. We have enjoyed our time teleconferencing as we did a study by Priscilla Shirer called “The Armor of God.” We have a renewed commitment to prayer and have been continually encourages by our regular meetings, as the verse in Hebrews stated.

We started this chapter just before the shutdown. The decision to continue to meet has brought a closeness for each of us and has allowed us to engage with new women as our number has grown.

Do you live in or near Dandridge, Tennessee? Join us! If not, contact CWA’s national office to find out if there is a CWA Prayer/Action Chapter in your area.  If there is not one, please, start one. You are needed!
