Senate Democrats are blocking an anti sex-trafficking bill, the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, over abortion. Democrats are claiming they did not know there was a provision within the bill regarding the Hyde Amendment.
The Hyde Amendment is nothing new. It prohibits taxpayer money from being used for abortion and is frequently added to spending bills and programs dealing with the health and safety of women and children.
We need your help:
- Please call your senators at 202-224-3121 and ask that they support the Hyde language included in the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act.
- Please call 202-224-2934 to thank Sen. Cornyn (R- Texas) for including the Hyde language in the bill and not caving to Democrats who have called for the language to be stripped or they will block the bill from moving forward.
