Today, on a party-line vote, Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) and his Democrat cronies jumped ship on a plan that would have increased the debt ceiling and put our country on a path to economic sustainability. This despite a CNN poll this week that shows 66 percent of Americans want to see Washington cut and cap its spending and balance the budget.
We don’t want Congress and the President to broker another “backroom deal” that continues to feed Washington’s spending habit. Now is the time for Members of Congress to stand firm and say no to tax increases that will hurt American families and businesses, and no to anymore borrowing without significantly cutting and capping spending and balancing the budget.
