Privacy and Safety in Intimate Spaces for Underaged Girls!

By January 28, 2025North Dakota

North Dakota Schools, one again, do not think that our laws apply to them.

Despite the North Dakota Legislature passing legislation into law last year to provide privacy and safety for female students and to prohibit students from using a restroom that does not coincide with their biological sex, some school districts have decided not to designate separate private spaces in bathrooms and locker rooms for underaged girls! For this reason, House Bill 1144 is needed.

HB 1144 is expected to be voted on in the House Human Services Committee next week!

HB 1144 adds a penalty for school districts out of compliance. Read the Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee testimony in support of HB 1144 here.

Concerned citizens, parents, and students submitted written testimony to the committee. One such parent’s testimony in support of HB 1144 may be read here. Many submitted testimony in opposition to the bill. The committee needs to hear from YOU as soon as possible!

Good reasons House Bill 1144 is needed!

  • Clarifies the requirement to provide separate bathroom and shower room facilities based on biological sex and prohibits multi-stall gender-neutral restrooms and shower rooms.
  • Empowers the North Dakota Attorney General to enforce and prosecute school districts that continue the unlawful practice to face a possible civil penalty of two thousand five hundred dollars for each violation of the law.

Take Action: Ask House Human Services Committee members to vote a “Do Pass” on HB 1144.

Subject Line:  Vote “Do Pass” HB 1144 – Schools need bathrooms and locker rooms based on Biological Sex.

Dear Representative _________________________,

Please vote in support of privacy and safety for underaged girls. It is important to add a penalty to any school unwilling to follow the law. I was gratefully informed about this bill by Concerned Women for America of North Dakota.

Sincerely,

Please Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the men and women who represent us as lawmakers in the North Dakota Legislature. May they seek wisdom, strength, and discernment from above. Thank You for parents and community leaders willing to protect our children from harm. Give them the courage to speak the truth.
