Praise Report: CWA of California Stands for Faith and Freedom in Los Angeles

What a powerful and peaceful day we experienced in Los Angeles last weekend. I had the honor of attending May Day USA as a representative of Concerned Women for America (CWA) of California, joining with other Christian leaders to pray, bless, and stand in unity for truth in the public square.

This event in Hollywood was originally planned as an outdoor event featuring live music, local vendors, and a road closure to safely welcome the crowd. Hosted by Her Voice Movement and Ross Johnston Ministries, the event was intended to be a peaceful, prayerful, and worshipful call for America to turn back to God. It ended up being all of that, and more. In a troubling last-minute decision, the City of Los Angeles revoked the event permit while approving a permit for a Pride festival for the exact location for next weekend. The Mayday USA event pressed forward, pivoting with courage and conviction. The event became a constitutionally protected, peaceful protest. And God used it mightily.

Worship and praise filled the streets of Hollywood. Prayer blanketed the atmosphere. Families were served with free bicycles, haircuts, and resources to get plugged into a local church. But above all, hearts were stirred, and lives were changed as people committed and recommitted their lives to Christ.

As a movement rooted in prayer and public policy, CWA of California was proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with these ministries and lift high the name of Jesus, proclaiming truth over our state, and peacefully exercising our freedom of religion that is under increasing attack in our nation.

It was safe. It was bold. It was beautiful.

Thank you to all who prayed, showed up, or supported this historic moment. CWA of California remains committed to defending our constitutional rights, Biblical values, and the voice of Christian women in public policy. Learn more at ca.cwfa.org and concernedwomen.org.
