Penny Nance Quoted for Standing in Solidarity

After the abominable events surrounding the recent shooting of nine church members at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C., Governor Nikki Haley (R-SC) and Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) called for the removal of the Confederate flag from the state capitol out of respect for the mourning community members.

Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America, felt compelled to respond in both love and truth by joining Gov. Haley and Senator Scott in asking that the flag be removed. In her press release, Penny explains that, as Christians, it is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in Christ and to grieve with one another. The Washington Post picked up Penny’s statement and quoted her in a recent article, titled, “Faith leads South Carolina in the right direction.”
