Washington, D.C. — CEO and President of Concerned Women for America (CWA) Penny Nance has issued the following statement after the shooting of a security guard at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C.:

“Concerned Women for America (CWA) is asking our members to be in prayer for our brothers and sisters at the Family Research Council, particularly for the victim. FRC and Tony Perkins are leaders in the pro-family movement. CWA thanks them for their courage and vows to continue to fight alongside them for the rock solid family policies that are so vital to a strong America.

“This shooting is yet another reminder that recent comments by the Southern Poverty Law Center and Human Rights Campaign labeling FRC a ‘hate group’ are not only false, they are irresponsible and should not be tolerated. That being said, in the spirit of loving our enemies, we pray for justice and deliverance from the evil that motivated the shooter.”
