Dear CWA of Washington Friend,
President Ronald Reagan once said, “Without God, there is no virtue, because there’s no prompting of the conscience. Without God, we’re mired in the material, that flat world that tells us only what the senses perceive. Without God, there is a coarsening of the society. And without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure. If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”
Matthew 5:13 records one of Christ’s similes, comparing believers in Him to light. As we move on from the 2018 midterm elections, please join me in praying and standing as one of God’s lights in this nation, our “shining city on a hill”, built on a Biblical foundation and knowing that our liberties come from a loving Creator.
Encourage a Legislator!
Whether a legislator is a believer, non-believer, conservative, liberal, democrat, republican, independent or other, they are in desperate need of prayer. This next legislative session, CWA of Washington plans to deliver those prayers.
We need you to sign up to pray for a state legislator during the 2019 Washington state legislative session from January through April. Our goal is to cover all 147 legislators with prayer this session, and we need your help to do so. In addition, we ask you to mail a weekly encouraging postcard, that we will provide, to your assigned legislator. Please click here to sign up today! Step it Up!
In our ongoing effort to protect and defend the family through prayer and action, we need to increase our presence in the current culture war. Nationwide, we are seeing an alarming trend of attacking and undermining parental authority, religious liberty, and freedom of speech. If you would like to more actively join Concerned Women for America as we put on the spiritual armor that Paul speaks of in Ephesians 6 and stand with us, please consider attending or starting a CWA Prayer/Action Chapter in your community or building a Home Team of others who would like to join our effort. It’s Time to Expand Our Influence!
As you know, CWA of Washington promotes the application of Biblical principles to all levels of public policy. In order to expand our influence in this area, we need a Legislative Liaison to help out in Olympia. This person would track legislation and network at the state capital. We provide the training. If you or someone you know is concerned about the ungodly, anti-Christian attitude influencing our state legislators, please consider inquiring about this leadership position.
