New Mexico: Help Us Ensure Election Integrity

The 2024 elections are upon us, and we need your help to ensure that every eligible vote counts in New Mexico! Here are ways to engage:

  1. Serve as challengers and watchers during early voting and on Election Day. Reach out to your local Republican or Democrat parties for information on qualifications and how to apply.
  2. Serve as Officer of Elections/Election Officer (poll workers.) Learn about Officers of Elections in New Mexico and how to apply here. Use can also use the poll worker lookup tool to find information on being a poll worker in your community, including requirements, hours, pay, training, and more.
  3. Ensure New Mexicans are registered to vote. We have made it easy for you. Download our Conducting a Voter Registration Drive: Instructions and Helpful Tips.
  4. Be an informed voter by checking out iVoterGuide.

Election Dates

Primary Election

  • Tuesday, May 7, 2024 – Voter Registration Deadline. More information on voter registration.
  • May 7-June 4, 2024 – Same day registration (SDR). More information on SDR.
  • Tuesday, May 21, 2024 – Deadline to apply for a ballot to be mailed to you.
  • Tuesday, June 4, 2024 – Absentee ballot return deadline.
  • Tuesday, May 7, 2024 – Voter Registration Offices open for early voting.
  • Tuesday, June 4, 2024 – Last day for in-person early voting.
  • Tuesday, June 4, 2024 – Primary Election Day. Polls open 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. MDT.

General Election (some dates pending as of February 2024)

  • – First Day of in-person early voting at local registrar’s office.
  • – Deadline to register to vote or update an existing registration.
  • – Deadline to apply for a ballot to be mailed to you.
  • –Last day of in-person early voting at local registration office.
  • Tuesday, November 5, 2024 – General Election Day. Polls open 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. MDT.
