Mom: A Woman’s Most Important Role

Dear CWA of Washington Member,

Mother’s Day is around the corner, so this is a wonderful opportunity to wish all you mothers out there a very Happy Mother’s Day. It’s important to emphasize the importance of mothers and fathers in a culture that denigrates those vital roles for the future of this nation. Women play so many roles during their lives, but the most impactful is that of mom to the children to whom they give birth or adopt into loving families. Married women know the important role that responsible, loving husbands play in their lives and the lives of their children. When we walk alongside one another in God’s roles, statistics fortify God’s Word insofar as we are happier, more prosperous, have healthier and more responsible children and BONUS! We live longer! In his article, “I’m Not My Wife” Mario Diaz, CWA’s Legal Counsel, testifies to the importance of wives and mothers.

LEGISLATION

The Washington State Legislature will begin a special session on Monday, May 13. This session is being called due to the legislature’s failure to pass a current budget. The focus should be solely on budget-related issues. However, Gov. Inslee has indicated that he wants to push forward HB 1044 re: the abortion insurance mandate (AIM). This and other social-issue bills were already defeated in committee during the regular session. Please encourage your district senator and representatives to stay focused on the budget rather than spend more time on unfruitful, divisive issues such as abortion. Call the Legislative Hotline: 1-800-562-6000 to express your opinion. Remember that at the state level, your contact represents one hundred people who agree with you but will never make the effort to call, e-mail or visit a legislator!

Pray for moral leadership from our legislators and respect for “We the people”.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. I Timothy 2:1-3
In His Service,
