On November 5, 2024, Missouri citizens will be voting on Amendment 3 entitled Constitutional Amendment to Article I, Relating to Reproductive Health Care, version 10, known as “The Right to Reproductive Freedom Initiative”.
Now is the time to be informed – before you enter your polling place.
What is the reality behind the proposed amendment? The amendment would enshrine the “right” to abortion in our Missouri Constitution and remove Missouri’s ban on abortion.
Currently, Missouri law includes partial birth abortion bans, parental consent, health and safety standards for abortion clinics, and a requirement for abortion clinics to show a mother her baby’s ultrasound image.
Amendment 3, if enacted, would remove all the above-said laws and more. It would eliminate more than 50 abortion-related Missouri laws.
It would establish a right to make decisions about reproductive health care, including abortion and contraceptives, without governmental interference, eliminating state and local government officials from establishing and enforcing reasonable regulations.
If voters adopt the proposed amendment, it cannot be changed without the introduction of a new amendment. It will be enshrined in our Missouri Constitution.
In Short:
- A “YES” vote will change Missouri’s constitution, removing our state’s ban on abortion and eliminating 50-plus abortion-related Missouri laws.
- A “NO” vote opposes a change to the state constitution regarding abortion.
Prayer: Please join us in prayer for our great state of Missouri. Pray we will be a people after His heart and each voter would be given discernment and wisdom as they cast their vote.
Action:
- Commit yourself now to vote this election season and encourage others to do the same.
- Have discussions with others about your view of this amendment and why you think it should or shouldn’t become law.
- Print our Amendment 3 push card on cardstock, cut, and distribute. Consider distributing to your church, Bible study, homeschool group, and others. Be sure to obtain permission to distribute the push card first.
Watch for more information to come.
