Dear Friends,
What a year! Hope is in the air as we look back at all we have accomplished this year and consider the possibilities ahead. We want to say a big THANK YOU for your friendship and support.
We praise God for each and every one of you!
The Christmas season, with its focus on the birth of Jesus Christ, is at the center of this hope. The Savior was born, died for our sins, rose from the grave, and reigns on high!
The words of 1 Peter 1:3 come to mind, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
It is that hope that keeps us energized, even in the midst of what others think is impossible. That is how we approached this election year, and we saw God move in miraculous ways.
But we couldn’t engage the way that we do without your help. YOU have gifted us with your time, talent, and/or treasure, and we are beyond grateful.
Let me list just a few of the things we were able to accomplish this year, thanks to you!
- Held our well-attended Second Annual Pre-Session Prayer Gathering, where every legislator, every judge, Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s Cabinet, the Department of Education, and many more were prayed over by name. We also prayed over our seven core issues and how we might be able to affect legislation with truth for good in those areas of concern.
- Lobbied, researched, wrote, and testified on legislation as volunteers during Virginia’s regular legislative session on pro-life issues, girls’ sports, and parental authority, as well as testified against the Constitutional Amendment for Abortion before the Privileges and Elections Committee.
- Developed Legislative Action Teams with our Young Women for America Ambassadors and Prayer/Action Chapter members, enlisting them to prepare and present their opinions before subcommittees on legislation that falls within our seven core issues. This has proven to be a very effective way of developing strong leaders within the next generation and allowing us to develop meaningful relationships with Concerned Women for America (CWA) leaders and members.
- Encouraged the Virginia State Legislature through our volunteer Encourage-A-Legislator Program with daily prayer and weekly postcards of encouragement. Many legislators commented during our weekly visits to Richmond how important these weekly words of affirmation were for them.
- Conducted our third annual CWA of Virginia Leadership Training and Fellowship. With over 65 in attendance this year, we learned many things from the legislators who spoke to the group, as well as those who lead active Prayer/Action Chapters within the Commonwealth. Our theme was Running the Race from Hebrews 12:1-4. All returned home determined to run our race well as we serve our membership here in Virginia.
- Held a She Prays She Votes Pink Bus Prayer Gathering with over 70 in attendance. We partnered with a local coffee shop and held our event in the parking lot. Complimentary coffee and tea were served thanks to CWA National. It was a great event!
2025, Here We Come!
We are believing in a God-sized vision for CWA of Virginia’s engagement for next year. Now is not the time to let up. We need to commit to prayer and action now more than ever. We have a great opportunity to exert generational transformation in the name of our Lord in the next year that will benefit our children and grandchildren. So, we will need your help! Please pray about what you can do and make yourself available to the Lord.
Please prayerfully consider making a final year-end, tax-deductible gift of $50, $100, or more to continue the work here in Virginia. It will make a huge difference for our state!
And remember, let’s keep our eyes on that Blessed Hope; we will stand triumphant in His glory alone.
In His Service,
Teresa Pregnall, State Director
