We are pleased to introduce Joy Howell, Concerned Women for America’s (CWA) new Oklahoma State Director. Drawn to CWA’s mission and principles, she joined the CWA leadership team in early 2024 as a Prayer/Action Chapter Leader for the Oklahoma City area. Believing the nation’s prayers had been answered this election and a reprieve had been granted served as confirmation that she should expand her role to impact her state for Christ as State Director. We are grateful Joy has been called into this role.
Joy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Dietetics from the University of Oklahoma and her Master of Science degree in Food Service Management and Marketing from the University of Central Oklahoma. Joy has had a long career as a Registered Dietitian and now consults in private practice. She also helps manage her husband’s law practice.
In her church, Joy has served in women’s ministry as the leader of the Girls Enrichment Ministry and as an adult and teen Sunday school teacher. She is a volunteer artist for the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital- Jimmy Everest Center Art with a Heart and is on the Oklahoma City Christian Women Executive Board.
Joy currently serves as Oklahoma County Republican Party Congressional District 4 Committeewoman and is on the Republican Women’s Club Executive Board. She has also served in various other roles within the Republican Party.
Joy and her husband, David, have been married for 36 years. They have raised two daughters and a son.

I love the Christian worldview of CWA, whose vehicle for action is faith and prayer and whose core issues align with mine. I am thankful the Lord has brought me into the fold of this incredible group of women of faith. CWA combines my passion for uniting the body of Christ to minister to our representatives, community, state, and nation! May we be a light within our state’s capitol. May we encourage our legislators to support morality-based legislation. May we faithfully join Him in His work to heal and restore our country and community.
