Over the past three months, I have been raising the alarm concerning SB 5395, the comprehensive sexual education bill mandating that public schools across our state teach an inappropriate sexual education curriculum. Read here, here, and here.
Many of you have made calls and sent emails to your state legislators urging them to vote against this egregious bill. Thank you! And, over 3,000 people gathered on the steps of the state capitol in Olympia last week to protest the bill. Outstanding!
In spite of our diligence, both houses of the Washington state legislature passed ESSB 5395 (formerly SB 5395) last week, and it is now headed to Gov. Jay Inslee’s desk for his signature.
Urgent Action Needed!
- Call the governor’s office at 360-902-4111 and urge him to VETO ESSB 5395 for the protection of our children’s innocence, respect for parental authority, and for religious right of conscience.
- E-mail the same message to Gov. Inslee.
- Forward this alert to all concerned citizens, especially parents with children in both public and charter schools. Encourage them to pray and take action.
Please Pray!
Pray that the heart of the governor will be tendered toward the innocence of our children and veto the bill. Pray for the protection of our children, our families, and the right to exercise our religious values in our homes and our daily lives outside our homes and churches.
We must persevere in this battle to protect our children by “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18).
In His Service,
Maureen Richardson
State Director
