Leader Call with Pastor Ben Palka & Pastor Wesley Welch

The truth is church is not getting more political, politics is getting more spiritual.”– Pastor Ben Palka

This quote beautifully summarizes the conversation Young Women for America (YWA) leaders had with Ben Palka and Wesley Welch, founding pastors of Kings Church D.C., on YWA’s October Leader Call. These monthly calls aim to equip leaders on specific aspects of our core issues through discussions with a wide variety of guest speakers and experts. With the election upcoming, Ben and Wesley spoke on Christian civic engagement, stewardship, and the pastors’ role in equipping their congregations to vote Biblically.

Pastor Ben reminded leaders, “A vote is not an indicator of the leader you always wanted, it’s a vote for who between two is preferred. It’s not condoning all their policy positions but you choosing the path that will prevent the most decay.” With the Gospel as our motivation, Pastor Wesley encouraged believers to think through “which candidate is going to help me love my neighbor best? If there is a candidate who is putting in policy that slows the moral decay, then that is loving my neighbor to vote for that.”

This was a fruitful conversation and a must-watch!
