Life Bills 2025 – Moved Across the Finish Line into Law!

We are excited to share that two strong pro-life bills were signed into law by Gov. Jeff Landry:
The Justice for Victims of Abortion Drug Dealers Act (HB 575)
This law empowers Louisiana citizens who have been harmed by abortion to file lawsuits against abortion drug dealers who unlawfully sell abortion services. Those involved in providing abortion pills, from manufacturers to street dealers, can be held civilly liable for the damage they cause.
The Stop Coerced Abortion Act (HB 425)
This bill expands the current definition of “coercion” in Louisiana law to include manipulative tactics often used by abusers, such as control and intimidation, that force a woman into an abortion against her will. With abortion pills widely available online, the risk of coerced abortion within families and relationships has grown. This law ensures perpetrators can be held accountable, even when physical force isn’t involved.
A Continued Investment in Life
The State Legislature again approved $4 million in funding for Louisiana Right to Life from the state’s budget. This directly supports pregnancy resource centers that provide help to pregnant and parenting mothers in need and their babies through life-saving work.
