A disturbing bill, HB 2827, known as the Homeschool Act, has been introduced in Illinois, threatening homeschooling families with harsh regulations—including the possibility of jail time for noncompliance. This legislation would impose unprecedented government oversight on parents who choose to educate their children at home, severely restricting their freedom to provide the education that aligns with their values and beliefs.
This is a direct attack on parental rights and school choice. If passed, this bill could set a dangerous precedent, allowing the government to dictate how and where children are educated.

HB 2827 is expected to be voted on by the House as soon as Monday, April 7.
