Hawaii – Say No to Redefining Marriage to Include Same-Sex Couples

Let your voice be heard for traditional marriage TODAY!

Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie may call a special session to pass same-sex “marriage” legislation any moment. I just found out that the State House polled its members yesterday to see if they have the votes to call a special session. It is imperative to make sure that those in charge of making and changing laws hear from the people. It is important that they hear the Christian point of view – TODAY. It is up to us to preserve Biblical values in Hawaii.

As you may know, thirty churches in Hawaii recently stated support of redefining marriage to include same-sex couples. It is reported that some pastors back a same-sex law. Historically, many mainline churches have remained committed to the Biblical definition of marriage between one man and one woman.

Now is the time to raise your voice in support of marriage between one man and one woman.

Take Action: We ask that you do the following five things: (You can make the difference!)

Call the governor’s office at 808-586-0034 and ask him NOT to convene a special session. Having a special session in this kind of economy is simply irresponsible. A vote of this importance should be left to the voting public. Contact your own representative and tell him or her NOT to redefine marriage. Click here to find your state legislator’s contact information. Make it clear that when you voted in 1998, you did not vote to allow the legislature to define marriage any way they choose to define it. Contact Speaker Joseph Souki and ask him to NOT support a special session. Click here for Speaker Souki’s contact information. Having a special session in this kind of economy is simply irresponsible. Again, a vote of this significance should be left to the voting public. Contact your pastor and thank him for standing strong in support of the Biblical definition of marriage. Ask your pastor to contact the governor and his legislators with the information above.

Pray: We ask that you be in prayer for our governor and our legislators as they make decisions that affect our daily lives. Pray that the Lord gives them wisdom to make Biblical choices, especially in regards to the holy institution of marriage.

For more information, read our talking points on the issue, our brochures on why marriage matters, and a recent Washington Times article, Hawaii Next For Gay Marriage Push.

Marriage is at stake in our great state. Please take a moment and make your voice heard!
