A non-partisan group of citizens in Upshur County gathered around the flagpole at the Court House on Thursday, May 2, to pray in observance of the National Day of Prayer. Prayers were given for our National, State and County officials, Military, Law Enforcement, and Fire and Medical Responders. They also included prayer for schools and the needs of students and teachers. Sandra Click, leader of the local Concerned Women for America (CWA) Prayer/Action Chapter, sent out an e-mail inviting others to join her at noon to pray for America. CWA is an organization that seeks to protect the family through prayer and action regarding important public policy and civic issues (ConcernedWomen.org).
