Dear Friend,
Election Day, November 8, is fast approaching. We wanted to remind you that Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) has taken a stance on four of the ten ballot issues which appear on the November 8 ballot.
We support a NO vote on the following:
Constitutional Amendment T – Legislative redistricting. T takes the power of creating legislative districts away from the 105 elected bipartisan members of the Legislature and gives it to a new nine-member unelected and appointed board.
Constitutional Amendment V – Non-partisan elections. Under this measure, party affiliation of candidates will not be identified on the primary and general election ballots. CWALA believes voters, who are aware of each party’s principles and policies, have a right to know to which party each candidate adheres.
Initiated Measure 22 – Campaign finance laws. According to the Defeat 22 website, IM22 will allow big-spending politicians to take millions of our taxpayer dollars and send it to political campaigns.
Initiated Measure 23 – Right to work. IM23 would force employees to pay fees to labor unions against their will, and ambiguous language in the measure causes uncertainty about its impact on our state “right to work” law.
