MEDIA ADVISORY:

Fifth Circuit Ruling Rolls Back Abortion Pill Access,
Will Save Women’s Lives

Rollback slaps down Biden Administration scheme to expand abortion

Washington, D.C.The following quote can be attributed to Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America (CWA), the largest public policy organization for women in the nation, on the release of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit’s decision in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. U.S. Food and Drug Administration:

“We applaud the Fifth Circuit for halting the reckless expansion of abortion drugs that put women’s health at risk. Following the Dobbs decision, Big Abortion’s dream has been to establish a mail-in abortion scheme to generate millions in profit while bypassing pro-life state laws. Unfortunately, the FDA has shown itself all too willing to bypass the traditional processes required by law to protect women in order to appease special interests. Thankfully, the court is holding them accountable at this preliminary stage, finding the FDA likely violated the Administrative Procedures Act in its expansion of Mifeprex. It is a good first step to reign in these unlawful actions that will put hundreds of thousands of women at risk. As we have all along, CWA will continue to fight against the FDA’s irresponsible push for chemical abortion drugs until the high standard of care demanded by federal law is carefully followed.”

Concerned Women for America filed an amicus brief in the case demanding the FDA follow the law and resist the Biden Administration’s attempt to thwart it.
