February 15: Women are Under Attack in New Mexico

On February 5, President Trump signed an executive order keeping men out of women’s sports. The NCAA changed its participation policy for transgender athletes, limiting competition in Women’s sports to athletes assigned female at birth only. The nation also celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day this month. However, New Mexico continues to leave women behind! A committee consisting of five women and one man voted 4 to 2 against HB 185 Protection of Women’s Sports Act on Thursday, February 13. Let it be noted that the one person on the committee willing to stand for women was a man.
