Encouragement for the Heart

Does the peace of God rule in your heart? It can! The apostle Paul says in Colossians 3:15, “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” When we set our thoughts on the things above and allow God’s peace to rule in our hearts, we are thankful.

Even as those redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, we can lose an attitude of thankfulness. A warning is given to us in Romans 1:21, “Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” When peace doesn’t rule our hearts, darkness does.

Opportunity comes each day to thank God and to enter into His courts of praise! “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His mercy endures forever,” I Chronicles 16:34. “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless his name.” Psalms 100:4
So, in doing the service in which we all engage, be thankful always! And the Peace that surpasses all understanding will prevail in and over all things.
