Don’t Budge on the Iowa State HHS Budget!

By May 16, 2013Iowa

Though ignored by much of the media, the recent exposure of the abortion industry and Dr. Kermit Gosnell has refueled the debate to defund abortion clinics with tax dollars.

Seeing multiple grizzly murders and gruesome unsanitary conditions all while abortion is “safe, legal, and rare” destroys the arguments of pro-abortion activists as to why taxpayers who are struggling to put food on the table for their own children should be forced to fund the killing of someone else’s child.

Your state senators will be voting whether or not the abortion industry in Iowa should continue to receive your hard-earned tax dollars. The Iowa House has voted to stop tax dollars going to abortionists. It is now up to the Senate and your senator’s vote will be key.

Act: Please call the Senate switchboard at (515) 281-3371 and tell your state senator to stop using your tax dollars to fund Iowa abortion clinics or e-mail your senator at firstname.lastname@iowa.legis.ia.us. Example: Amanda.Reagan@iowa.legis.ia.us. Click here to find your legislator.

Many speculate that Democratic leadership is beholden to the abortion industry due to campaign contributions that are seldom given to Republicans. If Democrats are willing to risk shutting down state government by demanding the state fund the abortion industry, Iowans will see who has priority in the Senate – and it won’t be the taxpayer. CWA of Iowa thanks House members who stand against the strong-armed threats of the federal government through Medicaid dollars, and we encourage them NOT to compromise.

It’s time for those who’ve promised to stop sending Iowans’ hard-earned tax dollars to the abortion industry to actually do it.

Pray: Join us in praying that legislators will stand strong for life, liberty, and for the pursuit of happiness by not forcing fellow Iowans to fund the killing of future Iowans waiting to be born.

Saving a few until we can save them all,
