Democrat Legislators Abandon Colorado Children

“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” -Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Here is an update on a sampling of bills supporting children and parents that the Democrat majority in two House committees voted to kill. Children in Colorado are not safe! I wouldn’t believe it myself if I hadn’t read and followed all these bills myself and then testified on each one of them.

Let your voice be heard in the face of evil. Use your voice and pen to let Democrats know we want our children protected in Colorado!

HB25-1231, Protect Minors from Sexual or Pornographic Content, LOST in State, Civic, Military, Veterans Affairs Committee. Individuals, organizations, or entities may continue to permit a minor to attend events, performances, or activities explicitly involving sexual content or pornographic materials.

HB25-1073, Protections Against Child Rape, KILLED in the House Judiciary Committee. Those who rape a child may continue to receive probation only in Colorado without incarceration, despite current Colorado law that demands that they receive more than just probation.

Listen to The Dan Caplis Show, where Brandi Bradley (R-District 39), the author of HB25-1073, joined George Brauchler to discuss how the Democrats killed her bill.

HB25-1251, Parental Consent to Treat a Minor, KILLED in House Health and Human Services Committee. Minors may continue to receive surgical procedures and medical or mental health services without written or verbal parental consent.

HB25-1254, Limitation on Gender Transition Procedure Claims, KILLED in the House Judiciary Committee. Insurers do not have the option to decline malpractice insurance to providers of transgender care for adults and children. This bill was aimed to protect the insurance industry in Colorado. As more people continue to come to Colorado for transition, exorbitant lawsuits have naturally followed as significant health issues have risen. This bill received overwhelming public support as well as support from insurance companies, which fear the collapse of their industry due to the current and predicted increase in lawsuits as Colorado is seen as a transition-friendly state.

We must not be silent when this level of evil is perpetrated by those who are supposed to represent, serve, and protect the people, especially our children.

Take Action: Contact the committee members using the links above to respectfully express your utter disappointment over the committees’ failure to pass these bills to protect our children. Be sure to let every one of them know that you were informed by Concerned Women for America of Colorado about these bills. This gives CWA of Colorado tremendous credibility when I testify and discuss future legislation with these legislators and their staff.

Please join me in prayer: Father God, we pray the Committee members will have hearts softened toward righteous causes and have wisdom and courage in their roles. Our children need adults to guard them from harm. We know there is nothing too hard for You, Lord. “Behold, I am Adoni, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for me?” (Isaiah 32:27).
Thank You, Lord, In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
