WASHINGTON, DC – Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) commended Sen. Josh Hawley’s new bill that will command the abortion drug Mifepristone’s approved application to be withdrawn for the purposes of terminating a pregnancy from the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, a necessary step to confront the dangerous drug.
“Claims that chemical abortion drugs are just as safe as Tylenol are simply not true. The FDA’s own black box label on Mifepristone warns that one in 25 women will end up in the emergency room. This extremely dangerous drug has often been administered without medical oversight and has been used to coerce women into believing that abortion is as safe and easy as just popping any other pill. Instead, women are left struggling to recover from the physical effects of Mifepristone on top of the psychological trauma of ending the life of their baby,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America LAC.
“The women I represent, including our Young Women for America leaders on college campuses around the country, are grateful for Sen. Hawley’s efforts to end the use of Mifepristone for both destroying the lives of innocent babies and irreversibly harming their mothers,” she added.
