CWA of Virginia Delivers Home-Baked Encouragement

By February 25, 2010Virginia

After being snowed out earlier in the month, the cookie bus left at 5:30 a.m. on February 22 from Bedford, Virginia, with almost 900 cookies, the work of several tireless Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Virginia volunteers.

The cargo was carefully packed into two crates and one duffel bag. Concerned Women for America of Virginia recruited self-proclaimed Concerned Warriors (our like-minded men) to help deliver the goodies. After a three-hour ride to Richmond, the cookies and the deliverers proceeded through security with success.

Then began the fun of stopping at each legislator’s office and sharing a bag of cookies with them, well wishes, and a reminder that individuals across the state were lifting them up in prayer. Our message to them was that we appreciate all the hard work they do during the legislative session and know the days can be long, so a small treat was given in appreciation. We may never know the results of that day, and we may not be thanked for the effort, but the spreading of good will is always the right thing to do.
