Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWA LAC) joined the pro-life community in the following letter to the Republican Members of the House of Representative Judiciary Committee urging action following President Trump’s pardoning of peaceful, pro-life protesters politically targeted by the Biden Administration under the “Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act” (FACE Act).
The pro-life movement is grateful for President Trump’s decisive action to pardon the FACE Act prisoners. These pro-life Americans were unjustly targeted by the Biden Administration’s Department of Justice for their efforts to protect the most vulnerable in our society: unborn human beings.
Congress must do its part to support President Trump’s effort to end the weaponization of government by repealing the FACE Act in its entirety.
There’s no question that the Biden Administration weaponized the FACE Act against pro-life Americans. During the Biden Administration, pro-life Americans faced early morning SWAT team raids, unjust prison sentences, and alleged mistreatment while in custody.
Since its creation, 97 percent of all FACE Act cases have been brought against pro-life Americans. In fact, the first time FACE Act charges were ever brought against a pro-abortion activist was only after Republicans took control of the House of Representatives and opened investigations into the Biden Administration’s political abuses of this unjust law.
Thankfully, in addition to pardoning the pro-life prisoners, the Trump Administration has taken extensive executive action to prevent the FACE Act from being weaponized against either pro-life or pro-abortion activists for the remainder of his term. For this we are grateful. However, to prevent any future pro-abortion administrations from weaponizing the FACE Act against pro-life Americans, Congress must repeal the FACE Act in its entirety.
As leaders of the pro-life movement, we respectfully ask that you mark-up Rep. Chip Roy’s FACE Act Repeal Act of 2025 (H.R. 589) as soon as possible and pass the bill into law.
Respectfully,
