Our volunteers in the Field and Young Women for America (YWA) leaders are constantly stepping out in prayer and action to promote Biblical and conservative values in their communities – we wanted to take a moment to share with you some of the incredible work they are doing.
Earlier this week, CWA of Virginia took to the podium in protest of a state constitutional amendment that would allow for abortions, for any reason, through the ninth month of pregnancy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. CWA of Virginia State Director, Teresa Pregnall, rallied nine of her chapter members and two YWA leaders from Liberty University to testify in Richmond before the Virginia House Privilege and Elections Committee.
We are so impressed by these women, and our network nationwide, for not shying away from the public square. Instead, they selflessly put on the full armor of God and speak light into darkness. Below you can watch YWA Ambassadors, Naomi Park and Halli Gravley, testify before the committee.
Teresa Pregnall shared the following quote about how important testifying before this hearing was:
“This hearing was different from others in which I have participated. I’ve never seen it where, throughout the day, individuals kept coming in one after another. You could see the shocked and baffled look on the faces of some committee members as we lined up to speak in opposition. Over 50 individuals were in opposition, a ratio of almost 3:1. Though it was clear that certain members on the committee had already made up their minds, at the least, the wind had been taken out of their sails. Numbers matter. They needed to know that we are a viable demographic. Even when we think we are going to lose, our delegates need to be held accountable by our presence and testimonies.” – Teresa Pregnall, State Director, CWA of Virginia
We are so grateful for the tireless work of our volunteers in the field- both CWA and YWA! Even when the outcome seems certain to be against us, we continue to stand as God has called us to stand.
