Creating a Culture of Life in Pennsylvania

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
-Proverbs 22:6

During the 2023-2024 legislative session, I presented a signature piece of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) legislation to Rep. Joseph Hamm (R-District 84), aimed to ensure that schoolchildren are taught a compelling, science-based view of a baby’s development in the womb. The information is not biased toward any viewpoint but rather gives students basic biological facts, allowing them to draw their own conclusions. Education like this has the potential to profoundly shape how students view life, while impacting the choices they may face in the future. HB 2080 was introduced but unfortunately did not move out of the Education Committee.

We are now in a new session and facing the same inaction. In February, again sponsored by Rep. Hamm, HB 606 was introduced to amend the Public School Code of 1949 to include early human life development education in Pennsylvania classrooms. Sadly, it remains stalled again in the House Education Committee.

If passed, HB 606, just as with HB 2080, will ensure students learn the full truth about human development.

HB 606 establishes basic guidelines for using this video as instructional material in the classroom, but its broader mission is to cultivate a culture of life in Pennsylvania by changing hearts and minds. Instructing the next generation on the foundational truths of life in the womb will bear eternal fruit!

TAKE ACTION:

  • Watch this video: it is a great example of what other states are using to teach early human life development.

PRAY!

Pray God gives our leaders wisdom and discernment as they legislate for a better Pennsylvania.  May their eyes be opened to the scientific truth of the wonder and intrinsic value of life inside the womb. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you for your continued support of CWA of Pennsylvania. Together, we will make an impact for His Kingdom!
