Washington, D.C. – Today, Concerned Women for America (CWA) was present at the White House as President Trump signed an executive order regarding men in women’s sports. Penny Nance, CEO and President of CWA had this to say:
“I was honored to be with President Trump today as he signed the executive order to keep men out of women’s sports, making it official U.S. policy that women’s sports are for women only. Three years ago, he signed Concerned Women for America’s (CWA) Presidential Promise to American Women to protect women’s unique dignity, and today, he kept that promise. Thank you, President Trump.
“This is an incredible moment for CWA. It’s a particularly momentous occasion for our Young Women for America (YWA) chapters and leaders who have spent the past three years testifying in committee hearings nationwide, rallying outside national competitions where men displaced female athletes, meeting with school administrators, and standing alongside women being directly impacted. This is a tribute to their political power as we turn the page and step into a new era of political history. Our YWA Leaders are a force to be reckoned with, and I predict they will become one of the most important and powerful driving forces in U.S. politics in the next decade.
“A special thank you to Doreen Denny on our CWA staff who has worked diligently for seven years to get this to this point along with other policies recognizing the unique dignity of American women.
“Finally, I’m so grateful to President Trump for standing firm on this issue. We are thankful to finally have a president who remembers and keeps his promises and most importantly, recognizes the unique dignity of American women.
“This is not the end of the story. We look forward to the Senate passing the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act so that we can meet again for a special celebration when President Trump signs it into law.”
