Kansans: A Few Things You Can Do

By | Kansas, States | No Comments

“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NKJV

So much is happening around us that can cause people to wonder, “what in the world is going on?” We are watching friends and fellow Kansans lose their livelihoods out of no fault of their own; we know people who have contracted the coronavirus, and there appears to be an all-out assault on our civil liberties, especially our economic and religious liberties.

Few can argue the fact that leading up to COVID-19, there was an increasing apathy toward the things that matter to God. Our state and nation have traded the goodness of God for what the world has to offer.

I don’t know about you, but Gov. Laura Kelly’s strong-arm governance model of ruling over businesses, churches, and the citizens of Kansas and recent events such as Luke Aichele, a barber from McPherson, Kansas, who was threatened with arrest for opening his shop in order to feed his family has stirred in me an even deeper commitment to want to make a difference in Kansas and our country.

Take Action:

  • Pray for the Kansas state legislature that will be meeting for a one-day session on Thursday, May 21. Please pray that the governor and legislature will seek to do what is in the best interest of Kansans.  Much prayer is needed for this one-day session.
  • Contact your state senator and representative before Thursday, May 21, and let them know you are praying for them. Some have had sickness and even deaths in their families. Locate your two legislators here. Enter your information in the left panel under Find Your Legislator. Be sure to let them know you are with Concerned Women for America of Kansas.
  • Send this e-alert to family and friends.

Please Pray: Dear Father, please hear our cry as we plead for the opportunity to reopen our state so that businesses can once again be open, and all Kansas can go back to work.  We pray for Gov. Laura Kelly, who seems to think the strong arm of the government and ruling over the people is the correct way to govern. Show her, Lord, that freedom means the ability for citizens to govern their own lives in the safest possible way so they can earn a living.  We also pray for our legislators, especially the leadership of the House and Senate as they come back on May 21.  Give them wisdom and courage to do what is in the best interest of our state.  Amen

Psalm 37:1-4.  “Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong;  for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.  Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

God is in charge!

Save The Date! CWA of Pennsylvania to Host State-Wide Virtual Prayer/Action Meeting

By | Pennsylvania, States | No Comments

Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Pennsylvania is looking forward to our first-ever state-wide virtual Prayer/Action meeting!  We are well on our way to establishing a strong state organization to help our members across the state to bring Biblical principles into public policy. As you are aware, there is a cultural battle raging across our great state and country, and CWA of Pennsylvania is preparing to be on the frontline to protect those values through prayer and action. Will you join us?

I invite you to join this special Prayer/Action Meeting on Thursday, May 21. It will be a wonderful time to learn firsthand about the work we do here in the state, how you can get involved, how you can advocate for the conservative social issues that matter to you, and to pray for our state and country.

Join Vanessa Saylor, CWA of Pennsylvania’s Chapter Coordinator, and me as we welcome Tanya Ditty, CWA’s Vice President of Field Operations and guest speaker Mario Diaz, CWA’s General Counsel and Constitutional Law Expert. We are bombarded daily with a flurry of contradicting reports from the mainstream media. Now more than ever we are in a truth crisis. I was taught that truth has a sound and as God’s people, we must separate truth from the flood of destructive reports we hear. Mario will share on this topic and address the question, “Is the Media the Enemy of the People?”

We are stronger together, and I look forward to linking arms with you for such a time as this!

Mark your calendar and be sure to invite your network of friends. You don’t want to miss this meeting!

Event Details:
Date: Thursday, May 21
Time: 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Location: Virtual – Anywhere You Are!
Cost: Free
RSVP: Click here to register.
Upon registration, we will email you the link to the virtual meeting in addition to a phone number for those who would like to call into the meeting.

Join us in making an impact in our community, state, and nation for the glory of God.

South Dakotans Show Their Appreciation to Gov. Kristi Noem

By | Blog, News and Events, South Dakota, States | No Comments

South Dakotans showed their appreciation to Gov. Kristi Noem (Republican) for protecting our liberties during the COVID-19 pandemic, as reported by Activist Mommy. A surprise parade passed by the governor’s mansion in Pierre including fire trucks, cement trucks, pickups pulling stock trailers, and cowboys on their horses.  You will notice in the video that the governor wiped tears from her face as she watched the parade.  She tweeted, “I am so blessed to serve the people of the great State of South Dakota. You folks made my day!”

Meet CWA of Louisiana’s New State Director!

By | Louisiana, States | No Comments

I am very excited to introduce to you Laura Huber, CWA’s new Louisiana State Director. Sancha Smith stepped down officially as CWA’s Louisiana State Director in March after 12 outstanding years of leadership. Laura joined CWA of Louisiana’s leadership team in 2019 serving as the state chapter’s Records Correspondence and co-leader of a Prayer/Action Chapter. We are extremely grateful that Laura is willing to step into the director role.

Laura was born and raised in North Canton, Ohio. She moved with her family to the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1978. Laura works alongside her husband of 31 years, Karl Huber, in their privately owned business, Graphics Advantage, LLC, a printing and promotional consulting business.

Laura is actively involved with Unashamed Love, an outreach ministry to women in the sex industry, dancers in strip clubs on Bourbon Street, and prostituted women in New Orleans. Laura is very passionate about the life issue and volunteers with Louisiana Right to Life. She and her husband, Karl, both serve on the Board of Directors at St. Tammany Right to Life.

Karl and Laura have three amazing and Godly adult children, one son and two daughters. They are blessed with four adorable and equally unique grandchildren. Their whole family is blessed to worship and serve together at Lakeshore Church in Covington, Louisiana.

Laura could not be more excited about representing CWA in the great state of Louisiana. Recently, in a conversation with Laura she said, “The confirmation from the Lord to step into the state director role couldn’t have been any clearer. There was such a peace with this step of obedience.” We at CWA national could not be more grateful for this woman who has a heart for the Lord, first and foremost.
