Capitol Hill Brief — Gorsuch’s Commitment Issues

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

They’ve tried any and every way they can, but Democratic senators in the judiciary committee have been “punching the wind,” so to speak, as they try to land a blow on President Trump’s highly qualified nominee to the Supreme Court, Judge Neil Gorsuch.

Sen. Feinstein pressed him on his policy preferences on several liberal issues.  Here is how he responded:

[AUDIO CLIP] Judge Neil Gorsuch: Well, it’s not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing, senator, respectfully. It’s a matter of it being the law. And my job is to apply and enforce the law.

[AUDIO CLIP] Sen. Feinstein: Alright. Fair enough.

Time and again they tried to get him to commit to rule with liberals on things like abortion and same-sex “marriage,” yet Judge Gorsuch stood firm.  He must be confirmed.

Our next Supreme Court justice will shape America’s future for generations to come. Judge Neil Gorsuch will uphold conservative, constitutional values. Tell the Senate to confirm him by signing our petition at www.CapitolHillBrief.org today. If you’d like to hear these commentaries on the radio, find me on your local radio station.
