Capitol Hill Brief — CWA Targets Target

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

For over 30 years, Concerned Women for America did not join boycotts, opting to affect public policy changes through other avenues.  That all change in 2016 when Target decided to disregard every mother’s concern for their young daughter’s safety and publicly bragged about opening their women’s restrooms to men.

Our members where rightfully outraged and we had to join the boycott and send a clear message: Our children’s safety is not to be bargained with.

Not allowing a person to enter the bathroom of the opposite gender is not discriminatory against transgender people. It is instead a commonsense regulation to protect women and children.

Target shoppers should have a reasonable expectation of privacy in using the public restrooms.
