Capitol Hill Brief — A Worldwide Problem

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

All week, we’ve been highlighting the heartbreaking news that close to 100 percent of babies diagnosed with Down syndrome in Iceland are aborted.

But this tragedy is not just a problem for Iceland. It’s a worldwide issue, as the report acknowledges:

“Other countries aren’t lagging too far behind in Down syndrome termination rates. According to the most recent data available, the United States has an estimated termination rate for Down syndrome of 67 percent; in France it’s 77 percent; and Denmark, 98 percent.”

Have you ever had the privilege of looking into the beautiful eyes of a child with Down syndrome?

We must repent of this.
