California: Help Us Ensure Election Integrity

The 2024 elections are upon us, and we need your help to ensure that every eligible vote counts in California! Here are ways to engage:

  1. Serve as challengers and watchers during early voting and on Election Day. Reach out to your local Republican or Democrat parties for information on qualifications and how to apply.
  2. Serve as Officer of Elections/Election Officer (poll workers.) Learn about Officers of Elections in California and how to apply here. Use can also use the poll worker lookup tool to find information on being a poll worker in your community, including requirements, hours, pay, training, and more.
  3. Ensure Californians are registered to vote. We have made it easy for you. Download our Conducting a Voter Registration Drive: Instructions and Helpful Tips.

Election Dates

Primary Election

  • February 5, 2024 – county elections office will begin mailing ballots. Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office.
  • February 6, 2024 – Ballot drop-off locations open
  • Tuesday, February 20, 2024 – Last day to register to vote.
  • Saturday, February 24, 2024 – Vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties.
  • March 5 – Presidential Primary Election.
  • Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by March 12, 2024.

General Election

  • October 21, 2024 – The last day to register to vote for the November 5, 2024, General Election.
  • October 7, 2024 – County elections office will begin mailing ballots. Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office. Note: All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 5, 2024, General Election
  • October 8, 2024 –Ballot drop-off locations open
  • October 26, 2024 – Vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties.
  • Tuesday, November 5 – Election Day.
  • Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 12, 2024.
