Assisted Suicide Measure Fails

By November 8, 2017South Dakota

November 6 was the deadline that petitions for ballot measures could be submitted to the secretary of state’s office.

We are pleased to report that the assisted suicide measure did not receive the required number of signatures, rendering this issue annul.  We praise God for this victory!

It is reassuring to know that South Dakotans respect and value all life and honor God as our life-giver and life-taker.

Additionally, of the three marijuana measures, the two recreational marijuana petitions were not submitted. Thus, the medical marijuana proposal can still be on the 2018 ballot, providing the petitions’ signatures are all valid.

You can read more about these issues in our fall newsletter.
