American and Israeli flags waved in the brisk fall wind; hundreds from across the country gathered, and all were chanting “Israel, Israel, Israel.”
These were the sights and sounds of the Stand with Israel Rally held by Concerned Women for America (CWA) and America Takes Action (ATA). On October 5, hundreds gathered at Upper Senate Park near the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., to show their support for the nation of Israel.
This summer Israel was bombarded with rockets by Hamas, and ironically, the United Nations is investigating Israel on war crimes. Even President Obama has refused to acknowledge the conflict for what it truly is, terrorists trying to eliminate one of our historically closest allies, Israel and the only democracy in the Middle East.
While many seem to be turning their back on Israel, Penny Nance, CEO and President of CWA, and Gov. Mike Huckabee (ATA) wanted to show Israel that there are people who will uphold the Biblical mandate to stand with Israel, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you” (Genesis 12:3).
Dozens of A-list conservative speakers and entertainers including: The Benham Brothers, Rep. Trent Franks, Rep. Vicky Hartzler, Morton Klein, and Lee Greenwood gathered to publically show their support of Israel and to encourage others to stand with Israel.
Gov. Huckabee said during the rally that, “If America doesn’t stand with Israel, God will remove His love from us.”
