Concerned Women for America is grateful for Godly leaders! God is using the voice of truth in our State Capitol; one example is the passage of HB 1181, which defines gender as sex.
North Dakota House passes bill to define gender as a person’s biological sex – InForum | Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo news, weather and sports (subscription required).
Concerned Women for America, Encourage-A-Legislator Co-Coordinator Rep. Karen Anderson (R-District 19) carried the legislation to the House Floor on February 20, 2025. “This is a simple bill that seeks to define gender,” she explained. The new definition applies to all policies, forms, and materials of state agencies, institutions of higher education, and public schools that receive state funding. Rep. Anderson’s full speech can be viewed here (1:19:46 mark).
This legislation aligns our policy with the federal government policy stated in President Donald Trump’s Executive Order, Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government which stated, “It is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female. These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.”
The bill to define gender as a person’s sex was passed by a wide margin with 80% of House Members voting in support of HB 1181! Praise the Lord!
HB 1181 will soon be heard before the Senate Education Committee for their consideration.

Dear Senator _________________,
Please vote “Do Pass” on HB 1181. Our state policies should recognize two sexes, male and female. It is biologically true that an individual’s gender means the individual’s sex.
Sincerely,
Your name and town
