“When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.” Proverb 29:2
If you speak to a home builder or an inspector of buildings, they will tell you that a building’s structure depends on its foundation. If the foundation is neglected, the structure will eventually crumble. Our nation’s foundation is being compromised as our Judeo-Christian heritage is being torn away.
America has been the freest country in the world because Jesus Christ was its foundation. Consider that Rev. Robert Hunt, who was part of the first expedition to Virginia, upon landing on the shores of Cape Henry with the English settlers in tow, planted a cross in the sand and prayed a prayer of thanksgiving and dedication to the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the new world. He knew the importance of establishing this venture on the foundation of Christ first and foremost.
Let us also consider these words from within the 1620 Mayflower Compact: “For the glory of God and advancements of the Christian faith.”
This is how our beloved country began; this is our foundation, and we must do all we can to secure what remains of it and work to reestablish what has been torn away through time.
This is why your vote matters. The legislators and president we select will significantly affect our country’s foundation for better or worse.
Polls show about 30% of Christians aren’t voting. Imagine, for a moment, the outcome of an election if those who follow Christ all voted.
Pray: Jesus said to pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Join me in praying for this election.
